In the production of cutting edge material, once the knife edge of rotary cutter and waste cutter is broken, especially the rotary cutter can not be automatically prepared after replacement, usually as waste paper or rewash rolls processing. This not only increases the use of cutting edge and labor force, but also mainly leads to an increase in stopping time, which seriously affects the production quality and cost reduction problems.
 

Deformation or damage of glued shims

The upper rotary slitter knife is equipped with two adhesive strips on the cutting edge and one adhesive strip on the lower cutting edge. The three adhesive strips provide significant protection to the knife edge. When the strip is running at high speed, the rubber bonding ring B and the lower rubber bonding ring C will stick to the middle of the strip with stable effect. The rubber bonding ring A will press on the lower edge of the strip to prevent the strip from vibrating and the main effect is to reduce the impact of the strip on the cutting edge. Once any rubber ring is deformed, damaged, cracked, slipped, worn and not parallel to the cutting edge, it will cause the strip to impact the cutting edge and reduce the usage time.
 

 

LAP and GAP adjustment correction error

The calibration of GAP and LAP is very important in the shearing process of slitter knives. Only after the correct calibration of GAP and LAP in advance, the slitter knife can automatically adjust the standard GAP and LAP according to the thickness of the steel strip. if the correction is not accurate, resulting in shearing the machine automatically adjusts the GAP according to the thickness, the actual LAP in the thickness is wrong. In this case, the cutting edge of the rotary slitter knife is not only of poor quality, but also works under abnormal parameters, and the cutting edge is easily cracked, so the calibration of GAP and LAP is crucial to prevent the cutting edge from breaking.
 

Knife edge installation is not standardized

Each time the installation of rotary slitting knife and scrap steel cutting and shredding knife, be sure to pay attention to the cleanliness of the knife mouth and knife seat, can not be stained with oil, dust, iron, cloth and other items. The working surface of the cutting edge must not have any damage and should be placed lightly. After installing the knife blade, the top of the lock nut must be tightened symmetrically and the cutting edge of the shredder should be guaranteed to be 25mm thick. If necessary, shims or copper can be added for adjustment. If you do not install it correctly, the cutting edge will work under abnormal conditions and be easily damaged.
 

 

Uneven trim width on both sides of the slitter knife

If the strip trim cut by the rotary slitter knife is wide on one side and narrow on the other, it is possible that the strip itself has poor flatness. It is also possible that the centerline of the rotary slitting knife deviates from the centerline of the production line.
Since the wire edge is not hard enough, the narrow edge of the shear knife does not easily follow the guide slot into the chip cutter and often appears directly on the edge of the guide slot or shear seam. Finally, the rear wave plate will impact the edge and break the edge.
