Precision cutting is required for the processing of heavy-duty films, foils, paper, laminates, and composite materials. Typically, this cutting method requires higher equipment costs and more complex debugging, but with higher cutting accuracy and faster efficiency.

This cutting method requires two blades: a disc circular knife or flat knife (top blade) located at the top, and a knife (bottom blade or cushion knife) located at the bottom.

The top blade needs to adjust the tilt angle so that the two blades interact with each other like manual scissors at the bite point, and material separation is achieved through the bottom blade. To achieve optimal performance, the outer diameter of the lower blade (bottom blade) should be larger than that of the top blade and have a higher hardness level.

To achieve the longest tool life, it is necessary to accurately set the bite point. If the bite point is not set properly, the tool will wear out quickly. It is necessary to provide sufficient and continuous training for operators to ensure that they fully master the equipment debugging specifications.

Due to the minimal heat generated by shear cutting and its fast efficiency, this process is often adopted in production environments that require long-term continuous operation.
