In metal strip processing, the thickness of the blade directly affects the cutting rigidity, the precision of the strip and the scope of application of the equipment. If enterprises need to process materials with large thickness spans, or often cut narrow strips, it is often difficult to use single-thickness blades to balance stability and versatility.

In actual production, according to the thickness of the material and the width of the strip, the combination of two blades of different thicknesses can be used, which can not only meet the cutting needs of different materials, but also avoid the application limitations caused by the single blade specification. At the same time, it should be noted that the thinner the blade is, the better. Excessive thinning will greatly reduce the rigidity, and it is easy to have a bias and give way to the knife when cutting, resulting in problems such as burrs and unstable size.

For strip conditions that require high rigidity, double-knife stacking can also be used to improve the overall strength. When the double knife is stacked, the diameter difference of the outer circle of the blade should be strictly controlled within 3μm, otherwise it is easy to form an indentation on the surface of the material, affecting the quality of the finished product. 

Reasonable selection of blade thickness can not only expand the processing range, but also stabilise the quality of the strip and improve the overall production efficiency.
