Differences between common stripper ring and steel stripper ring

In coil slitting ling, stripper rings are used to stabilize strip movement, control the separation process, and reduce deviation. Common bonded stripper rings and loose stripper rings are mostly polyurethane or rubber-coated, with soft materials that provide good cushioning and protection for the strip surface, effectively reducing the risk of scratches and indentations. Therefore, they are more suitable for materials with high surface quality requirements or thinner materials. However, under continuous high-load conditions, these stripper rings are prone to wear and deformation, resulting in relatively limited dimensional stability and a shorter service life.
 
In contrast, steel stripper rings are typically made of high-strength steel, offering greater overall rigidity and better wear resistance. They provide more stable support and separation during high-speed or thick-plate slitting. Their core advantage lies in their stronger pressing force on the strip, effectively suppressing warping or deformation during slitting, ensuring operational stability and slitting accuracy. However, due to the harder material, their protection of metal surfaces is weaker; improper process control may increase the risk of scratches, and the cost is also relatively higher.
 
In general, common stripper rings focus more on protecting the metal surface, while steel stripper rings focus more on controlling strip deformation through stable pressing. In practical applications, the appropriate choice should be made based on a comprehensive consideration of material type, thickness, surface requirements, and production conditions.
