What is the difference in performance between bonded stripper ring and loose rubber ring?

As the name implies, the rubber or polyurethane on the outside of the Bonded Stripper Ring is coated on the iron core by a specific casting method, and then processed as a whole. The Loose Rubber Ring and the iron core are completely two parts. After each is processed, the rubber or polyurethane ring is tightly sleeved on the outer circle of the iron core. Theoretically, the iron core seems to be reusable, which greatly reduces the production cost, but this is not the case. The loose rubber ring will bring many negative effects, and it will often outweigh the gain. Its negative effects are as follows:

1) It cannot be based on the iron core when regrinding the outer circle, so the overall concentricity is poor, which will cause the strip to swing left and right during operation, and the flatness of the roll surface cannot be guaranteed.

2) Due to thermal expansion and contraction, the cooperation between the rubber ring and the iron core will never be controlled well, and the inner circle of the rubber ring and the outer circle of the iron core will often be misaligned, damaging the rubber ring and the iron core. It can be said that most of the loose rubber rings will not be used to the ideal life and will be scrapped. Instead, more loose rubber rings have to be bought.

3) Because of the above reasons, the rubber OD surface of each unit is uneven. When you touch the outer circle of the knife shaft with the slitting tooling by hand, you can clearly feel this unevenness, thus forming different pressures on the surface of the strip, affecting product quality.

In addition, when the outer diameter of the Bonded Stripper Ring is too small to be used, the outer circle can be peeled off and re-coated. This is also a way to reduce costs.
