  1. Assembly mode of tools with poor tolerance. Putting aside the burrs formed by the clearance change caused by surface runout of the slitting knife caused by the poor parallelism and flatness of the tool, here we only consider the problem that the width (thickness) tolerance is too large to meet the precise clearance value requirements. The thickness tolerance of this tool is often about 0.01mm. Taking the cutting of 0.2mm thick metal sheet as an example, the required clearance should be 0.02mm. How can a tool with a thickness tolerance of 0.01mm meet the requirement of 0.02mm clearance? 
  Because of this, some manufacturers use many plastic spacers to adjust the clearance, but the problem is that the installation and disassembly of the tool is very troublesome, and the adjustment of one cutting unit will inevitably affect the gap of other units. Such repeated adjustments often make the operator lose direction and confidence. In fact, the thickness of the plastic shims is uneven, and such an entire cutting system is not frim enough, failing to achieve the original purpose. If repeated adjustments are made, a lot of expensive materials and effective time will be wasted, and it is really not worth the loss. In an era without precision tools, we appreciate the operator’s sense of responsibility and innovation. But the era has developed to the point where even CNC machine tools are popular today, and we are still clinging to such experience and concepts. We have to think deeply about our strategy.
  2. Assembly mode of tools with better tolerance. The thickness tolerance of this tool is often about 0.005mm. Generally, plastic spacers are not needed when using this kind of tool, but the operator is often afraid that too many tools will be installed together, which will increase the cumulative tolerance. Therefore, usually prepare a lot of SLITTER KNIVESBONDED STRIPPER RINGS and SPACERS. Choose a tool of the right size and fit it in the cutting unit. This assembly method requires a lot of time and tools, and the effect may not be satisfactory. It is better to spend more money on precision tools.
  3. The assembly mode of high-precision tools. Since the thickness tolerance of this tool is in the 2μm level, it can be configured with the clearance and width required for precision cutting of metal strips like a block gauge in the measuring room of a machine manufacturer. With software support, it can also effectively eliminate the cumulative tolerance of all cutting units between the upper and lower arbors.
